Best Noom Alternatives in 2026: 7 Cheaper Apps Like Noom, Ranked
The best Noom alternatives in October 2026, ranked by what each is best for: behaviour-change coaching, a cheaper tracker with an AI coach, free tracking, adaptive targets and fasting. Prices checked on the US App Store.
Key takeaways
- Noom Weight costs $209 a year on its annual plan (Noom says that works out to $17 a month), and Noom Med starts at $69 for the first month before medication. Most people who look for an alternative are looking for something cheaper.
- The closest like-for-like alternative is WeightWatchers, which also sells a behaviour-change program with coaching, Workshops and a GLP-1 service. It is not much cheaper: its US App Store plans run $19.99 to $24.99 a month or $108.99 for six months.
- If you mainly used Noom to log food, a tracker costs far less. Callie is $34.99 a year with photo, voice and text logging and an AI coach. Cronometer and FatSecret have free versions.
- MacroFactor is the pick if you want your calorie target adjusted to your real results each week ($71.99 a year). Lose It! suits simple logging, and Yazio suits intermittent fasting.
- Stay with Noom if you want human coaching, structured psychology lessons or a GLP-1 prescription in the same app. A cheap tracker replaces none of those.

- question: "Is there an app like Noom but free?" answer: "Not with Noom's lessons and coaching. Lose It! and Yazio have free versions too. Callie is not free: you get 3 AI logs to try it, then it costs $34.99 a year."
- question: "Why do people cancel Noom?" answer: "Mostly price and billing. Noom Weight's annual plan is $209, charged up front, and plans renew automatically. Noom also settled a class action for $62 million in 2022 over trials that rolled into hard-to-cancel renewals; the settlement got final court approval in July 2022 and Noom agreed to clearer terms and easier cancellation. Others leave because they finished the lessons and only need a tracker."
- question: "Is WeightWatchers cheaper than Noom?" answer: "Not by much. On the US App Store on October 6, 2026, WeightWatchers' monthly plans run $19.99 to $24.99 and a six-month digital plan is $108.99, which is close to Noom Weight's $209 a year. Both also sell GLP-1 programs: WeightWatchers Med+ is $25 for the first month and then $74 a month on a 12-month plan, and Noom Med starts at $69 for the first month. Medication costs extra on both."
- question: "Can a calorie tracker replace Noom?" answer: "It can replace Noom's food logging, and for many people that is the part they actually use. It can't replace the psychology curriculum, human coaches or a GLP-1 prescription. If you finished Noom's lessons and kept the habits, a tracker such as Callie, Cronometer or Lose It! is usually enough."
Callie is our app, and it is one of the alternatives on this list. We give it one slot, a cheaper tracker with an AI coach, and say where Noom and other apps are the better choice. Prices come from the US App Store and each company's own pages on October 6, 2026, and the full source list is at the bottom.
The 30-second answer
The best Noom alternative depends on which part of Noom you'd be replacing. For lessons and coaching, the closest match is WeightWatchers, though it costs about the same. For a much cheaper tracker with an AI coach, pick Callie: AI Calorie Tracker at $34.99 a year against Noom Weight's $209. For free logging, pick Cronometer or FatSecret. For a calorie target that adjusts to your results, pick MacroFactor. Stay with Noom if you want human coaching, psychology lessons or a GLP-1 prescription.
Why people leave Noom
Price. Noom's US App Store listing says Noom Weight plans "start at $17 a month", based on a $209 annual auto-renewing plan, and its in-app purchases range from $44.99 to $199.99. Noom Med, the GLP-1 program, starts at $69 for the first month, not including medication. Once the lessons are done, many people are paying $209 a year mainly to log food.
Billing and renewals. Noom plans renew automatically. In February 2022 Noom agreed to a $62 million class-action settlement over claims that "risk-free" trials rolled into renewals that were hard to cancel. It was $56 million in cash and $6 million in subscription credits, and a federal judge in New York gave final approval in July 2022. Noom disputed the claims and agreed to send trial reminders, simplify cancellation and clarify its terms. Those changes are years old now, but the reputation stuck, and "cancel Noom" is still a common search.
The program format. Noom's daily lessons and colour-coded food system suit some people and feel slow to others. If you already know what to change, you may only want fast logging. Our article on why people quit calorie tracking covers the most common reasons people drop an app.
The best Noom alternatives, ranked by what they're best for
1. WeightWatchers: best for behaviour-change coaching
WeightWatchers is the only app here built on the same idea as Noom: a program, not just a tracker. Its plans page describes behaviour-change techniques, live coaching and in-person or virtual Workshops, and its App Store listing centres on the Points program, 12,000+ recipes, barcode scanning and GLP-1 support with dose and side-effect tracking. For medication, its Med+ plan is $25 for the first month and then $74 a month on a 12-month plan, medication not included.
It is not a budget option. The US App Store lists monthly plans from $19.99 to $24.99 and a six-month digital plan at $108.99. The app is in English, Dutch, French, German, Portuguese and Swedish.
Pick it if the coaching and group support are what you'd miss from Noom.
2. Callie: best cheaper tracker with an AI coach
Callie is our app. It replaces the logging side of Noom, not the lessons.
- Photo, voice and text logging, plus barcode and restaurant-menu scanning.
- Review before confirm. Every photo scan opens an edit screen, and nothing is saved until you confirm.
- An AI coach you can chat with in any language. It knows your logs and targets. There is no human coach and no lesson curriculum.
- Daily diet plans matched to your BMI, with keto, intermittent fasting and calorie-cut options, and a calorie target re-tuned every 2 weeks from your weight trend.
- A GitHub-style streak dashboard, with cheat days you schedule in advance that keep your streak.
- 6 app languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic (right-to-left) and Japanese.
Pricing is 3 free AI logs, then $34.99 a year, $14.99 a month or $4.99 a week in the US, about a sixth of Noom Weight's annual plan. There is no free plan. Callie does not prescribe medication or track GLP-1 doses. It is new, first released in August 2025. The full comparison is on Callie vs Noom.
Pick it if you mainly used Noom to log meals and want that faster and for much less.
3. Cronometer: best free tracker for nutrient detail
Cronometer's free version includes calorie and macro tracking, a 1.1-million-food database and barcode scanning, with ads, per its App Store listing. Gold ($59.99 a year or $10.99 a month) adds photo and voice logging, a fasting tracker and Crono Coach, an in-app assistant that gives guidance from your nutrition data.
Pick it if you want to pay nothing and care about vitamins and minerals as well as calories.
4. FatSecret: best free tracker in many languages
FatSecret's free app covers food logging, and its Premium tier adds dietitian-made meal plans and advanced meal planning, per its App Store listing. Premium runs $38.99 to $59.99 a year. The app is in English plus 22 other languages, including Arabic, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
Pick it if you want a free tracker in your own language.
5. MacroFactor: best for adaptive coaching
If what you liked about Noom was being told how to adjust, MacroFactor does that with numbers instead of lessons. It estimates your energy expenditure from your logged intake and weight trend and proposes new targets at a weekly check-in. It is $71.99 a year after a 7-day trial, with no free version. It is in English and Japanese only. We compare apps with this feature in the best calorie trackers that adjust your targets.
Pick it if you train and want the most careful calorie algorithm available.
6. Lose It!: best for simple logging, with a lifetime option
Lose It! has a free version, and Premium adds photo and voice logging, meal planning, intermittent fasting tools and wearable sync. Its App Store listing shows in-app purchases up to $79.99, plus lifetime options at $49.99 and $59.99. It is in 8 languages.
Pick it if you want a familiar tracker and would rather pay once than subscribe.
7. Yazio: best for intermittent fasting
Yazio combines a calorie tracker with fasting plans such as 16:8 and 5:2 and 2,900+ recipes. It has a free version, and PRO adds meal plans, wearable sync and ad-free use. PRO is $47.90 a year on the US App Store, with promotions from $23.90, per its listing. It is in English and 19 other languages.
Pick it if fasting is your main approach.

This article compares apps, not treatments. If you take or are considering a GLP-1 medication such as Wegovy, Zepbound or Ozempic, decisions about starting, stopping or switching programs belong with your prescriber. Don't stop a medication because you are cancelling an app subscription.
When to stay with Noom
Noom is the better choice if:
- You want human coaching. Noom offers optional 1:1 coaching and group Circles. Callie, Cronometer, FatSecret, MacroFactor, Lose It! and Yazio have no human coach.
- You want psychology lessons. Noom's core is a daily curriculum on the habits and thinking behind eating. If you quit tracking before because of how you felt about food, not because logging was slow, that is what Noom is built for.
- You want a GLP-1 prescription in the same app. Noom Med offers access to GLP-1 medications through its clinicians in the US if you are eligible, from $69 for the first month plus the medication. Callie does not prescribe or track GLP-1 doses. If you're on a GLP-1 and only need a tracker for protein and calories, see our guide to calorie apps for GLP-1 users.
Noom also states that users lose an average of 15.5 lbs in 16 weeks. That is Noom's own figure, not an independent study.
How to switch from Noom
- Note your current weight, height, goal weight and any targets Noom gave you.
- Leave Apple Health sync on so your weight history stays available to the next app.
- Install the new app and run its setup before your Noom period ends.
- Cancel Noom in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, or on Noom's website if you subscribed there. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- If you are on Noom Med, talk to your prescriber before stopping.
